Online Training in Behavioral Activation

Treatment/Program Description
Behavioral Activation (BA) is a brief psychosocial treatment for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) that has demonstrated strong outcomes in clinical trials. BA aims to alleviate depression and prevent future relapse by focusing directly on behavior change and by helping clients experience more contact with sources of reward. The current version of the program covers conducting the initial sessions and an overview of the treatment and MDD.

 

Randomized Control Trial (RCT) Details

  • Participants will be randomly assigned to one learning condition:
      • the BA online training OR
      • enhanced BA online training OR
      • an online training on a similar topic (control).
  • Participants will receive:
      • Free training in Behavioral Activation
      • $50 for completion of the training and all associated research assessments
 
Who is eligible?
  • Treatment provider treating individuals with major depressive disorder OR
  • Interns, students, residents, and other trainees enrolled in an educational program preparing you to treat depression
  • Little or no prior exposure to BA
 

The study will begin near the end of May. Participation will last one week.
